JEFF GRANT
Mr. Jeffrey D. Grant was elected to The Aerospace Corporation’s Board of Trustees on December 11, 2019. He retired in 2018 from Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems as vice president and general manager of the Space Systems Division. In this role, he was responsible for providing space solutions to civil and military customers as well as members of the intelligence community.
Previously, Grant was vice president of National Systems within Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Division, and vice president of business development at Northrop Grumman Space Technology (now Aerospace Systems). In this role, he was responsible for the acquisition and execution (including design, build, launch, and operations of major systems) of all space programs for members of the intelligence community; new business; and evolution of existing systems. He joined the company in 2002 after amassing a broad range of private and public-sector experience, including positions as vice president and chief technology officer at Astrolink International (a global broadband telecommunications satellite system international joint venture), and an engineer at the Office of Development and Engineering.
Prior to that, Grant worked for more than two decades in various capacities with the Intelligence Community in the Directorate of Science and Technology (DST) and Directorate of Intelligence, Office of Scientific Intelligence. There, his roles included director, Office of Plans and Analysis; program director for a satellite, launch, and ground segment development; chief systems engineer on two space intelligence collection projects with geosynchronous and low Earth orbit spacecraft; and leader of an advanced technology division tasked with developing and testing advanced imagery, communication, and data processing technologies.
Grant has received numerous awards in recognition of his exemplary skills in systems engineering and earned value management, including the Distinguished Intelligence Medal, the Intelligence Medal of Merit, the Intelligence Certificate of Distinction, Engineer of the Year, and Certificate of Distinction. He serves on the board of directors for the Space Foundation.
